The Codex chronologico-diplomaticus episcopatus Ratisbonensis (technical short name: (Der) Ried ) is a document book of the diocese of Regensburg printed in the early 19th century . It contains a collection of documents and letters from the archives of monasteries and monasteries belonging to the diocese, most of which are still available in handwritten originals, and was compiled by Thomas Ried .

The work contains 1300 documents (mostly reproduced relatively reliably) up to the year 1600. Thomas Ried (1773–1827), a priest and chancellor interested in literature and history, had collected, viewed and copied the documents for a decade, as well as dated them and prepared them for edition . After Prince-Bishop Karl Theodor von Dalberg's distrust of the printing of documents had also been removed, two volumes of the Codex chronologico-diplomaticus episcopatus Ratisbonensis were published by Schaupp in 1816 . Volume I contains the documents up to the end of the 13th century, Volume II the documents up to 1600. There is another volume in the manuscript, which, however, was never published. The University of Regensburg is currently checking whether this unpublished volume can be made available online to anyone interested in history.

The work is considered a main source for the Upper Palatinate historiography. Ried's achievement was rewarded and he was accepted as a corresponding member of the academy in 1817 at the suggestion of the director of the historical class of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences , Lorenz von Westenrieder .
