The Cogtong Bay is a bay on the southeast coast of the island of Bohol in the Philippines . The two communities Mabini and Candijay share the bay in almost equal parts. A total of eight barangays are located on the coastline of the bay. The Cogtong Bay forms a deeper bay on the western coast of the Canigao Channel , in which the islands Lumislis, Katiil, Tabongdio, Calanggaman and the two coral reefs Tagaytay and Kawasihan are located. The rivers Cabidian, Matulid and Sagumay flow into it.

In the bay there are extensive mudflats and large mangrove forests , the mangroves cover an area of ​​20 km² in the bay, of which 14 km² are intact forests, for the economic development of the communities aquacultures have been set up on 330 hectares. The mangroves are interspersed with the nipa palm ( Nypa fruticans ). A total of 33 types of mangrove could be identified and are under nature protection as a Mangrove Forest Reserves . Lumislis Island can be reached on foot across the tidal flats at low tide .

The region around the bay has a tropical, humid climate with no dry season , with heavy rainfall in parts .
