The Cohen Islands are a group of small islands off the north coast of the West Antarctic Trinity Peninsula . They are located in the Archipelago of the Duroch Islands between Ponce Island and Pebbly Mudstone Island and 800 m west-southwest of Halpern Point .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the archipelago in 1964 after Theodore Jerome Cohen, field research assistant from the University of Wisconsin who was involved in surveying the area around the islands between 1961 and 1962 as part of the United States Antarctic Research Program .
