The Coin SpA is an Italian department store chain.
Company history
In 1926 the first shop was opened in Mirano . In 1986, Coin developed one of the first customer cards called Coincard .
In December 2009, Coin announced the acquisition of UPIM . According to its own statements, the Coin Group rose to become the largest clothing retailer in Italy.
In April 2016, Gruppo Coin floated part of its stake in OVS , so that its stake was reduced from 52 to 42 percent.
Coin in Germany
Since September 2000, Coin has also been represented in Germany. Kaufhalle sold the operative business of the department stores run as KAUFHALLE , KAUFCENTER and M. multistore to Coin 's subsidiary Oviesse . In 2004 Oviesse withdrew from the German market. With the takeover of the Charles Vögele Group , the Coin Group is entering the German market again, where it switched 84 former Charles Vögele branches to UPIM.
