Colaris is a German post-rock band from Pirmasens . The band is under contract with Revolvermann Records and has so far released two studio albums, two EPs and a split LP.

history

The three musicians met since summer 2009 for various jam sessions , from which the first self-composed songs became. Then the musicians decided to start a band. In October 2010 Colaris recorded the four-song EP The Disclosure in the SU2 studios in Illingen . The recordings lasted two days. The EP was finally released on its own in January 2011. A short time later, the band began songwriting for their debut album. At the same time, the band was signed by the Rostock- based record label Revolvermann Records.

The recordings for the debut album took place within five days in the SU2 studios under the direction of producer Phil Hillen. In March 2012, the debut album Renewal was finally released. A year later was split with the Zweibrücker alternative rock band Ampersphere released two original songs have contributed in both bands and beyond each a song the other band covers . In October 2013 the EP Source followed with previously unreleased material and a remix of the song "Unveiled".

style

Colaris play instrumental rock music with influences from post-rock , progressive rock , sludge and psychedelic rock . The band describes their style as "brutal romanticism".
