Colcannon

Colcannon ( Irish cál ceannann , white-headed cabbage ) is a traditional Irish and West Scottish stew made from potatoes , kale or white cabbage , salt and pepper . There are also spring onions , milk and butter . Colcannon used to be cooked as a main course, but today it is more of a side dish, mostly with meat dishes.
