Colin Brumby
Colin Brumby (born June 18, 1933 in Melbourne , † January 3, 2018 in Brisbane ) was an Australian composer .
Brumby taught composition at the University of Queensland and was musical director of the Queensland Opera Company from 1968 to 1971 . His work includes operas, orchestral works, concerts for solo instruments and chamber music. This also includes the Suite for Four Double Basses from 1975.
The writer Thomas Shapcott wrote texts ( libretti ) for operas by Brumby .
