The Collet-Sicard syndrome is a neuralgia of the glossopharyngeal .

Synonyms are: Sicard syndrome; Weisenburg-Sicard-Robineau syndrome; Sicard-Robineau Syndrome; Neuralgia of the glossopharyngeal nerve; Tic douloureux; English Collet's Syndrome

The names refer to reports from 1915 by the French pathologist and radiologist Frédéric Justin Collet (1870-1966) and from 1917 by the French neurologist and radiologist Jean-Athanase Sicard .

root cause

In the idiopathic primary form, there are probably disorders of the vasomotor nerve component.

In the secondary form, the cause is pressure from tumors , scarring or neuritis .
