The Colored Peak (English for Colorful tip ) is a 660 m high mountain in the West Antarctic Marie Byrd Land . It rises 3 km southeast of O'Brien Peak in the foothills of the Queen Maud Mountains on the southern edge of the Ross Ice Shelf .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964. Participants of the 1969 to 1970 campaign as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition examined and named it. The yellow, pink and brown bands in its stone give it its name.
