The Colwell massif is a 6 km long and 2,635 m high massif in the Royal Society Range of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is bordered by the Palais , the Ferrar and the Rotunda .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1994 after the American microbiologist Rita R. Colwell (* 1934), who carried out field research in Antarctica .
