The Comando interforze per le Operazioni delle Forze Speciali (COFS) (German Armed Forces Command for Operations of Special Forces ) is a command of the Italian armed forces that plans and leads the operations of Italian special forces at the operational level. The COFS, created in 2004, is housed together with the operational command of the armed forces COI at the Rome-Centocelle military airfield .

Insinuation

The COFS reports directly to the Chief of Staff . It takes care of joint forces across to common policy tasks and, together with the COI to the operational command of all special units of the Italian armed forces. If necessary, it can integrate its mobile command unit ( Joint Special Operation Component Command - JSOCC) into international command posts or, in the case of international operations, take over the management of a Combined Joint Special Operations Component Command itself. In terms of troop service, the Italian special forces are normally subordinate to the respective branches of the armed forces (force providers) .

Italy's civil intelligence services report to the Italian Prime Minister . The special forces in particular are supported by special flying units from the various branches of the armed forces. This includes:
