Commonwealth Lake is a lake in the north of the Canadian province of Manitoba .

The lake has a north-south extension of almost eight kilometers, from east to west it measures up to five kilometers. It is fed by several small tributaries and drained in the south by the Caribou River . There are several small islands in Commonwealth Lake.

The lake got its name in 1974 in memory of the Commonwealth Air Training Plan from 1939 to 1945. The four largest islands were named after the national animals of the participating states Canada, Great Britain, Australia and New Zealand Beaver Island ( beaver ), Lion Island ( lion ), Kangaroo Island ( Kangaroo ) and Kiwi Island ( Kiwi ) - except for the beaver, no typical representatives of the northern Canadian fauna .
