Concordia (association)

Concordia was the name of the national association for the promotion of the welfare of the workers , which was founded in March 1879 at the instigation of the board of directors of the Mittelrheinischer Fabrikantenverein in Mainz .

The reason for the founding of the association was to initiate the healing of the social problems . This should be done through the association of employers and other friends of the cause . The founding call was made on November 24th, 1878. The founding members included u. a. the Reichstag members Louis Constanz Berger from Horchheim , Wilhelm Blum from Heidelberg , Adolf von Brüning Höchst am Main , Wilhelm Büchner from Pfungstadt , Eugen Holtzmann from Breitenhof , Helmuth Karl Bernhard von Moltke from Berlin and the chamber director of the Vice Chancellor Count Otto zu Stolberg-Wernigerode .

The association "Concordia" published the magazine of the same name, which appeared at least until the 6th year of 1884. The seat of the association was the city of Mainz.
