The Concrete-Central Elevator is a historic grain elevator in Buffalo , New York State . It is located in the south of the city on the banks of the Buffalo River and was built between 1915 and 1917. The 268 reservoirs of the 300 meter long structure had a capacity of 4,500,000 bushels of grain (approximately 1.6 million cubic meters). This made the Concrete-Central Elevator the world's largest silo for grain handling when it was completed. The storage facility was shut down in 1966 and has been left to decay since 1973.

The building has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 2003 .
