The  Concurso Internacional de Guitarra Alhambra ( German : International Guitar Competition Alhambra) is an international competition for classical guitarists that takes place every two years in the Palau de la Música in Valencia .

background

The guitar competition was founded in 1990 by Manufacturas Alhambra SL , a manufacturer of classical guitars from Muro , Spain , on the occasion of its 25th anniversary. It has developed into a renowned competition for young guitarists. Participation is possible for guitarists under 35 years of age. Previous first prize winners will no longer be allowed to enter the competition in later years. The winner and the finalists of the competition will receive cash prizes.
