Borislaw Blagoew ( Bulgarian Борислав Благоев ; born March 24, 1983 ) is a Bulgarian ice hockey player who has been playing for ESV Bergkamen since 2015 in the sixth class district league of North Rhine-Westphalia, where he also worked as a player-coach from 2015 to 2017.

Career

Borislaw Blagoew began his career with HK Slawia Sofia , with whom he played in the Bulgarian ice hockey league. In 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2005 he was with the club Bulgarian champion and 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 cup winner . After the fifth championship title he moved to Germany, where he played for two years for the Königsborner JEC in the fourth-class regional league North Rhine-Westphalia . After another year in the Regionalliga NRW, which he spent at Lippe-Hockey-Hamm , he returned to Sofia in 2008, where he again won the double from the Bulgarian championship and cup in 2009. He then went back to Germany, where he was active from 2009 to 2015 at the sixth class ESC Kristall Lippstadt and since then has also played sixth class in the North Rhine-Westphalia regional league at ESV Bergkamen. From 2015 to 2017 he was also the player-coach of the team from the Ruhr area.

International

In the junior division, Blagoew played for Bulgaria at the U18 World Championships in European Division 2 in 1999 and 2000 and Division III in 2001 as well as in the U20 D World Championships in 1999 and 2000 , the U20 World Championships in Division III in 2001 and 2002 and Division II 2003 .

With the Bulgarian men's national team , Blagoev took part in the World Championships of Division II in 2005 , 2006 , 2007 and 2008 . He also represented his colors at the qualifying tournaments for the Olympic Winter Games in Turin 2006 and Vancouver 2010 .
