Conon is an impact crater on the front of the moon in the Montes Apenninus , west of the Galen crater and north of the Sinus Fidei , through which the approximately 37 km long Rima Conon moon groove runs in a north-south direction.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Greek astronomer and mathematician Konon of Samos .
