Conrad David Lagemann
Conrad David Lagemann (born August 14, 1865 in Wellingholzhausen , Melle district , † August 29, 1941 in Meppen ) was a German local poet who also wrote under the abbreviation CD Lagemann .
Life
Lagemann grew up as the son of a farming family in Wellingholzhausen near Osnabrück . After training as a teacher, he got his first job as a teacher at the school in Teglingen . Then he was rector at the Ludmillenschule in Meppen. He held this position until he retired in 1928.
Lagemann was a local poet and he still performs plays in the city of Meppen today. From his pen come stories, plays, songs and poems. His best known are “Dat aule Molkenschapp”, “De Poggenstöhle”, “Up'n Härenkamp”, “Pröpper mott't wäsen” and “Krieg in't Dbod”. His Low German song lyrics are still known in the Emsland today, such as B. “Das Höltinglied”, “Land der Amsivaren” and “Sünner Klaos”. Lagemann died in Meppen on August 29, 1941.
A street in Meppen was named after him in his honor.
