Andreas Büchert (born October 6, 1986 in Trier ) is a former German basketball player . During his career, the 2.06-tall center player was in the squad of Bundesliga clubs Eisbären Bremerhaven , Phoenix Hagen and Gießen 46ers .

Career

Büchert left his hometown Trier in 2005 and moved to Tallahassee Community College in the US state of Florida . In 2007 he went from Florida to South Carolina at Winthrop University from the first division of the NCAA . Between 2007 and 2010 he played 65 games for Winthrop, in the 2008/09 season he sat out due to a knee injury. In his last season in the USA, he scored 5.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game in 2009/10. The latter was team best.

Büchert returned to his home country and completed two games in the Bundesliga basketball league for the Eisbären Bremerhaven in the 2010/11 season before he moved within the division and was signed by Phoenix Hagen. For the 2011/12 season he decided to accept an offer from the 2. Bundesliga ProA and strengthened Erdgas Ehingen / Urspring School . Büchert was a regular there and recommended himself for a return to the Bundesliga. In July 2012 he was signed by the Gießen 46ers. He was used 28 times in the Bundesliga during the 2012/13 season and scored an average of 5.9 points and 3.4 rebounds per game for the traditional club. He left Gießen after one season and was signed by the second division BG Karlsruhe in December 2013 . Büchert played for the BG until the end of the 2013/14 season.
