Conrad Reuter

Johann Conrad Diercks Reuter (* 1832 in Aabenraa , † 1895 in Eutin ) was a German geometer and councilor .

Life

Reuter, son of the organ builder Andreas Reuter and brother of Rudolf Reuter , came to Helsingfors , in what was then the Russian Grand Duchy of Finland , in 1861 , where he co-founded the Polytechnic , today's Aalto University, and was town builder from 1865 to 1877 .

In 1867 he worked out a city map of Kotka . In addition, he worked from 1861 to 1891 as a professor at the Polytechnic.

His son was the engineer Wolfgang Reuter .
