Constantin Vlădea

Constantin Vlădea (born February 2, 1923 in Râşnov , Braşov district ; † August 2, 2015 ibid) was a Romanian skier, trainer and functionary.

Vlădea began skiing in 1930 and was one of the co-founders of the Bucegi Predeal sports club , which was merged into a military sports club in 1948. He became a youth coach in the Romanian Ski Federation. After the Second World War he was a participant in the Olympic Winter Games in 1948 with the Romanian team in the military patrol demonstration competition and reached seventh place together with Ștefan Ionescu , Niculae-Cornel Crăciun and Ion Koschi . One of the well-wishers after participating in the Olympics was King Michael I. Vlădea , who had abdicated in 1947, was later active as a biathlete and won the state championships. He was chairman of the Romanian Ski Federation for 25 years. He was also involved in the construction of the first ski jump in Râșnov in 1963 . Vlădea was still on skis at the age of 90 and remained active well into old age. At the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2013 he was one of the torchbearers.
