Constanze Gensel , married Constanze Bauer , is a former German figure skater who competed for the GDR .

Career

In 1985 she won the Golden Pirouette of Zagreb and is multiple medalist at the GDR championships in figure skating . In 1984 she took bronze behind Katarina Witt and Simone Koch . In 1985 and 1986 she came second, both ahead of Simone Koch, but again behind Katarina Witt. At the Junior World Championships in 1984 and the European Championships in 1986 , she took 8th place. Her best world championship placement she achieved at the 1985 world championships with 11th place. She trained in Karl-Marx-Stadt and was spied on by 27 Stasi informers, as she found in her surveillance file. Constanze Bauer later became a consultant at a bank.
