Johannes Streccius (born March 5, 1831 in Stendal ; † January 25, 1889 in Wiesbaden ) was a Prussian officer , most recently a lieutenant general .

He was the son of Johann Karl Christian (born June 3, 1789 in Stendal; † October 7, 1833 ibid), most recently a senior lieutenant in the Landwehr a. D. and city ​​councilor in Stendal, and his wife Ernestine Eleonore Amalie, née Matthias (* December 24, 1794 in Magdeburg ; † October 2, 1855 in Barby ). His younger brother Christian Felix (1833–1889) also embarked on a military career and made it to major general. The future general of the infantry Alfred Streccius (1874–1944) was his nephew .

Military career

From September 2, 1843, Streccius first attended the cadet school in Potsdam , then from June 3, 1845 in Berlin . On April 28, 1849, he was transferred to the 17th Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army in Wesel as a Second Lieutenant . To suppress the Baden military uprising , he took part with this regiment in the battles at Waghäusel , Bischweiler and Kuppenheim . From October 1, 1852 to July 1, 1853 he was posted to the General War School . As of April 3, 1855, he was assigned to the Berlin Cadet House as an educator . Linguistics
