Constanze Kirchner (* 1962 ) is a German art teacher and professor .

Life

Constanze Kirchner studied from 1982 to 1986 the teaching post at elementary schools at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main with the subjects art education, German and material teaching. From 1986 to 1989 she completed a second degree in art education, sociology and psychology (Magister Artium) also at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main, where she also received her doctorate in 1998 with a dissertation on the teaching of contemporary art in primary school. From 1989 to 1998 Kirchner worked as a primary school teacher, from 1998 to 2001 as a lecturer at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen . Since 2001 she has held the chair for art education at the University of Augsburg . Her work focuses on didactic theory, the investigation of aesthetic behavior and visual expression of children and young people, the promotion of creativity and teaching / learning research on quality in art lessons. Constanze Kirchner has been co-editor of the magazine Kunst + Studium, which she has shaped with her didactic concept, since 1995, and has been co-editor of the KREAplus series at the kopaed publishing house in Munich since 2012.
