Georg Philipp Beyschlag (born July 4, 1997 in Munich ) is a German basketball player . The 1.80 m tall playmaker was part of the extended squad of Bundesliga club FC Bayern Munich .

Player career

Beyschlag comes from the youth department of TSV 1861 Nördlingen , where he was mainly formed by coach Zoltan Nagy, a former Hungarian national player. From the 2012/13 season he was part of the TSV men's team for the 2nd Bundesliga ProB . In 2014 he decided to move to FC Bayern Munich . There he was first used in the youth and in the second men's team. In 2015 he won the championship title in the youth basketball league with the Bayern U19 team , in 2016 he won the title in the 1st Regionalliga South-East with the 2nd men and rose with the team to the 2nd Bundesliga ProB .

On September 30, 2016, he made his Bundesliga debut for FCB in defeating Würzburg . He played in Munich until the end of the 18/19 season and then left the club to focus on professional training. He was used 14 times in the Bundesliga by Bayern.

National team

Beyschlag took part in the 2013 European Championship with the German U16 national team, and reached the European Championship semi-finals with the U20 national team in summer 2016. At the U20 European Championship in the summer of 2017, he reached seventh place overall with the German team and scored an average of 7.7 points per match.
