Art on campus
Kunst am Campus is a sculpture park on the campus of the University of Augsburg, which was founded in 1970, in the Augsburg university district .
Emergence
The founding of the University of Augsburg led to the acquisition of works of art in accordance with the statutory art in building laws. This was used to finance the artistic design of the interiors and the surroundings of the buildings.
With more than fifty contemporary works, art on the campus in Augsburg illustrates the development of art in public space over about twenty-five years. It accompanies the slowly emerging construction of the new campus .
For the 35th anniversary of the University of Augsburg, an art guide was created as a website and a brochure. Students of a seminar on contemporary art in public space at the chair for art education describe twenty-four of these works by German and international artists.
