1600 Smith Street (formerly Continental Center I ) is a 51-story office building in the American city of Houston , Texas . Located on Smith Street, the skyscraper is the eighth tallest building in Houston at 223 meters. The building designed by Morris Aubry was completed in 1984. In addition to the technical facilities, the high-rise only functions as an office building; the usable area is around 103,000 square meters. The shape of the building is expressed by a pointed roof and several downgrades.
