The Continentale Company Health Insurance Fund ( Continentale BKK ) is an open company health insurance fund . It emerges from the continentale company health insurance fund, established in 2009 by the union of the company health insurance funds Die Continentale company health insurance fund, BKK Phillips, LOGISTIK BKK and BKK Sauerland, and the company health insurance company HENSCHEL Plus established in 1854.
The BKK has its origins in the companies Continentale Krankenversicherung , Philips , Hueck , Alcan , Rhenus and Stinnes AG .
History and Development
The Continentale BKK was founded on July 1, 1992 as the company health insurance fund of the Continentale health insurance in Dortmund . On January 1, 2009, it merged with BKK Philips, but kept its original name. In the course of this merger, the headquarters were relocated to Hamburg . Subsequently, on July 1, 2009, BKK Sauerland and Logistik BKK were merged with two other health insurances in Die Continentale company health insurance ; the name in the course of this was changed to Continentale company health insurance , short form Continentale BKK . From 2013 to 2016 the number of members of the Continentale BKK rose to 67,214, which corresponds to an increase of almost eleven percent. On January 1, 2020, BKK HENSCHEL Plus was added. Continentale BKK currently has around 91,000 insured persons. It charges an additional contribution of 1.3%.
