history

The company was founded in 1814 by the Hueck brothers as a "factory in various buttons and trading in iron , steel and brass goods ". The company name (company) "Eduard Hueck" was created in 1864 and is still in use today. The brass rolling mill on Loher Strasse started operations in 1879 and the first steam engine was used. The first extrusion press goes into operation in 1908 . In 1938 Hueck built a rolling mill in Lüdenscheid-Elspe for the production of large-format aluminum and brass sheets . 1952 begins the development of the Hueck system profiles (first object: blue gold house for " 4711 " in Cologne ). In 1962 the aluminum extrusion plant and the aluminum foundry are built in Lüdenscheid-Elspe . From 1971 onwards, thermally insulated profiles are manufactured for HUECK's own system. In 1997 the rolling mill is shut down and production is geared towards the production and processing of aluminum profiles. In 2001 Hartmann System GmbH was purchased.

Since 1923 the Hueck family has held the majority of Hella GmbH und Co. KGaA , a major supplier to the automotive industry with around 38,000 employees today.

On the list of the 500 richest Germans compiled by Manager Magazin , the Hueck family's fortune for 2013 is estimated at 1.4 billion euros, which corresponds to rank 87.
