Cookham is a village and a parish ( Parish ) in northeast Berkshire in England . It is on the Thames and is 4 km north of Maidenhead on the border with Buckinghamshire District . In the 2001 census, 5519 inhabitants were counted. Cookham was the birthplace of the British painter Stanley Spencer .

The Cookham Parish also includes the three villages Cookham Dean, Cookham Rise and Cookham Village.
