The Coolgardie-Esperance Highway is a trunk road in the south of the Australian state of Western Australia . It connects the Great Eastern Highway in Coolgardie with the South Coast Highway in Esperance on the south coast.

course

In Coolgardie, the Coolgardie-Esperance Highway branches off to the south from the Great Eastern Highway (N94) and takes over its numbering. It leads south through dry land with little vegetation and many salt lakes - especially east of the route. After 166 km it reaches Norseman , where the Eyre Highway (N1) joins from the east .

As part of National Highway 1 (R1), the Coolgardie-Esperance Highway continues south for another 203 km until it reaches the coastal town of Esperance. Little by little the area changes its face, there are forests and the closer you get to the coast, the more agriculture is practiced. The highway ends in Esperance on the Great Australian Bight . From there the South Coast Highway (N1) heads west along the south coast towards Albany .
