Coos Huijsen (born March 20, 1939 in The Hague ) is a Dutch author and politician of the Christelijk-Historischen Unie .

Life

From 1972 to 1973 and from 1976 to 1977 Huijsen was a member of the Second Chamber of the States General . In 1976 Huijsen was the first openly gay MP in the Netherlands and the first outed gay in a national parliament worldwide. From 1976 to 1977 he was a member of Group Huijsen . Since 1977 he has been a member of the Partij van de Arbeid . After his time in parliament he worked as a teacher and author.
