The Copper Glacier is a glacier in the US state of Alaska on the northern flank of the Wrangell Mountains .
geography
The 19 km long and 1.3 km wide valley glacier has its nutrient area at an altitude of 2300 m between Mount Wrangell in the west and Mount Jarvis in the east. The Copper Glacier flows north and ends at an altitude of about 1100 m . The glacier tongue is the source of the Copper River . The Mount Sanford rises west of the glacier. The Copper Glacier is in retreat.
