The Mount Wrangell is a volcano in the southeast of the US state of Alaska near the Canadian territory Yukon . The 4317 m high mountain lies in the Wrangell Mountains .
Wrangell is the only volcano in the Wrangell Volcanic Belt (" Wrangell Volcanic Belt ") that has historically recorded eruptions , mainly small smoke and ash explosions. The amount of geothermal heat radiating from the volcano has increased since the 1950s, increasing the possibility of a future eruption.
