Cor Bakker
Cor Bakker (born August 19, 1961 in Landsmeer ) is a Dutch pianist of light music (pop, jazz) and radio and television presenter.
Bakker began playing the piano at the age of 11 and had the jazz pianist Louis van Dijk as a role model. From 1984 he studied piano and improvised music at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam and continued his studies in Los Angeles with Clare Fischer . In the Netherlands he was the pianist of the Metropole Orkest (1989 to 2000) for many years , accompanying singers such as the Dutch Karin Bloemen , Jenny Arean and international stars such as Shirley Bassey and Oleta Adams . He was a television pianist in the show by Paul de Leeuw (1990 to 2013, De Schreeuw van de Leeuw).
He had his own radio show (Music minded, 1994 to 1997) and a television series (Cor & Co, 1996 to 2001) in which he received musicians such as Al Jarreau , Lionel Richie , UB40 , Michel Petrucciani and Michel Legrand . From 2001 to 2005 he had a television series Cor op Reis , in which he undertook a musical tour of the world. From 2010 he organized his own shows in theaters (Cor Bakker Ontvangt), for example in 2011 and 2015 with Louis van Dijk. From 2014 he appeared as a pianist with the Gerry Mulligan Revisited program in a duo with the baritone saxophonist Jan Menu .
His first album was released in 1993 ( Declared , a tribute to Clare Fischer).
