Cora (company)
Cora is a French supermarket chain . It belongs to the Belgian company Groupe Louis Delhaize .
In addition to 59 so-called hypermarchés ( hypermarkets ) primarily in the north and north-east of France with 22,000 employees, the group is active with a further 19 stores abroad. In 2004 it achieved sales of more than 10 billion euros. The company is based in Marne-la-Vallée, east of Paris . The first store opened in September 1969. Until 1974, the operation was carried out in the franchise system by Carrefour . Since September 1989 the company has also been selling numerous products under its own name , since 1991 environmentally friendly products under Generation Verte , since 2003 Reisen under Cora Voyage . Subsidiaries are Houra (Internet sales , so-called cybermarché ), Match, Animalis, Banque Revillon.
