Cora Sandel (around 1896)

Cora Sandel (* December 20, 1880 as Sara Cecilie Margareta Gørvell Fabricius in Christiania , † April 3, 1974 in Uppsala , Sweden ) was a Norwegian writer who wrote on Riksmål .

She grew up in Tromsø and at the age of 25 moved to Paris , where she tried to establish herself as an artist. Here she attended a painting school and wrote her first travelogues and novellas. In 1921 she came to live in Sweden.

Only after her separation from the artist Anders Jönsson did her debut in 1926, the semi-autobiographical novel Alberte og Jakob as the first part of a trilogy. The Alberte trilogy was continued with Alberte og friheten (1931) and Bare Alberte (1939) and is considered to be Cora Sandel's main work.
