Cordell Cato (born July 15, 1992 in Carenage ) is a Trinidian soccer player who is mostly used as a midfielder .

Career

Cato began his football career in Defense Force FC's youth teams. After five years in youth, he moved to league rivals San Juan Jabloteh and made his professional debut there. After two seasons he moved back to his youth club Defense Force, with which he was champion in the TT Pro League the year he returned .

On January 17, 2012 it was announced that he had received a professional contract in the MLS with the Seattle Sounders .

For the 2013 season he moved to the San José Earthquakes .

National team

Cato was part of the squad for the 2011 CONCACAF U-20 Championship in Guatemala . On October 8, he made his senior team debut in a 6-1 win over the Dominican Republic .
