CCL20 ( English CC chemokine ligand 20 ) is a cytokine belonging to the family of the C-C chemokines .

properties

CCL20 is involved in inflammatory processes. It is chemotactic for lymphocytes and, to a lesser extent, neutrophils . CCL20 binds to the CCR6 receptor . CCL20 is induced by lipopolysaccharides (LPS) or the cytokines TNF-alpha and interferon-γ and downregulated by IL-10 . CCL20 is produced by lymphocytes, in lymph nodes , in the liver , appendix , in the fetal lung and to a lesser extent in the thymus , testes and intestines .
