The Corgo ( Portuguese Rio Corgo ) is a river in northern Portugal , which flows entirely through the Vila Real district . It rises south of the small town of Vila Pouca de Aguiar , flows through the town of Vila Real and flows into the Douro not far from the town of Peso da Régua .
The A4 motorway crosses the Corgo south of Vila Real on the Viaduto do Corgo , a 2,796-meter-long cable-stayed bridge .
