Cornelio Musso (born April 16, 1511 in Piacenza , † January 9, 1574 in Rome ; also Cornelius Mussus and il Bitonto ) was a Franciscan conventual and famous pulpit speaker. Since 1541 Bishop of Bertinoro , where he never took residence, he was in 1544 by Pope Paul III. appointed Bishop of Bitonto . He was only able to enter there in October 1548, after the council was interrupted. It was not only through his speeches at the Tridentine Council that he was considered to be the “innovator of the art of preaching”.
