Cornelis Hendricksz Loen

Cornelis Hendricksz Loen (* 1481 in Amsterdam ; † 1547 there ) was a ruler of Amsterdam in the 16th century.

biography

Cornelis Loen came from a patrician family . His father was Hendrick Loen, one of his relatives was the Amsterdam Mayor Claes Fransz Loen . By marrying Andries Boelens daughter Lijsbeth Boelens († 1551) he founded the line Boelens Loen . Andries Cornelisz Boelens Loen (1517–1573), married to Alyd Claesdr Smit, is considered to be the only ancestral owner. The son was considered the head of the Amsterdam Reformed . The family lived in a town house on Warmoesstraat , the most important street in Amsterdam at the time.

Loen entered the city government in 1514 as Schepen . In 1521 he became Vroedschap and in 1529, 1531 and 1533 mayor.
