The diagonal armored catfish ( Corydoras loxozonus , from Greek "loxos" = oblique, and Latin "zona" = belt, belt, zone; in relation to the wide, sloping "bandage" on the sides of the body) is a species of fish from the armor family - and callous catfish (Callichthyidae), which occurs in the river basin of Río Guaviare and Río Meta in Colombia . The type locality is located southeast of Villavicencio in the Río Ariari, a tributary of the Río Guaviare. Decker's armored catfish , another German common name of the species, is derived from the trade name "Corydoras deckeri", under which this and similar Corydoras species were originally introduced to the USA for the purpose of keeping aquariums. "Corydoras deckeri" was never a valid scientific name and is also used for other species such as B. Corydoras axelrodi used.

features

The bias-band armored catfish is five to six centimeters long, is very variable in color from sand-yellow to flesh-colored and has a golden sheen. With its strong, dark brown longitudinal ligament and the other ligaments composed of individual points, it resembles the Axelrod's armored catfish ( Corydoras axelrodi ) occurring in the same area , but the longitudinal ligament is inclined in contrast to the almost horizontal one in this one and begins below the dorsal fin, and then to the lower Lobes of caudal fin to reach. The front rays of the dorsal fin are also dark brown.

breed

The bias tape catfish is rarely bred. Around 150 juvenile fish hatch in each breed.
