Coryphantha gracilis is a species of plant in the genus Coryphantha from the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet gracilis comes from Latin and means 'slim'.

Coryphantha gracilis usually grows individually and only sometimes branches. The flattened spherical to spherical, light gray-green to grass-green shoots reach heights of 3.5 to 10.5 centimeters with diameters of 2.5 to 5 centimeters. The conical warts, which are up to 9 millimeters long, are slightly curved. The axillae are not woolly. Nectar glands are absent. Central spines are not developed. The twelve to 18 whitish to yellowish brown, 0.5 to 1.1 centimeters long radial spines lie close to the shoot surface.

The very bright yellow, shiny flowers are 2.2 to 3 centimeters long and 3.5 to 5 centimeters in diameter. The spherical, light green fruits are not very juicy and have lengths of 1 to 1.5 centimeters.

Distribution, systematics and endangerment

Coryphantha gracilis is common on chalk gravel in the Mexican state of Chihuahua .

The first description by Lewis Bremer & Alfred Bernhard Lau was published in 1977. A nomenclature synonym is Escobrittonia gracilis (L.Bremer & ABLau) Doweld (2000).

Coryphantha gracilis is in the endangered Red List species the IUCN as " Least Concern (LC) ", d. H. not endangered, classified.
