Cosimo Rosselli (* 1439 in Florence , † 7. January 1507 ) was an Italian painter of the Renaissance .

Life

Rosselli came from Florence and was a student of Benozzo Gozzoli . He received his most important commission in 1481 when he was invited to paint frescoes for the Sistine Chapel in Rome . He was a thorough and complex painter. Fra Bartolommeo and Piero di Cosimo were his students.
