The Cotapata National Park (Parque nacional y área natural de manejo integrado Cotapata (PN y ANMI Cotapata) ) is a Bolivian national park with an area of 400 km². The national park was established in 1993.
geography
The national park is located in the northwest of the La Paz Department in the municipality of La Paz in the province of Murillo and in the municipality of Coroico in the Nor Yungas Province , about 50 kilometers from the city of La Paz . The park region begins at the peaks of Manquilizani ( 5,324 m), Telata (5,336 m) and Illampú (5,519 m) in the west, covers large parts of the basin of the Río Huarinilla , and extends in the east to the confluence of the Huarinilla into the Río Elena (about 1000 m ).

Among the 204 registered species in the park are endangered species Puma , mountain cat , spectacled , black face monkey , taruca , Halsbandpekari , Pacarana , Creighton Slim opossum , Andean bird , Isidor Adler ( Oroaetus isidori ) oilbird , Andenguan ( Penelope montagnii ) Sichelguan ( Chamaepetes goudotti ) ; other birds that occur are black-bellied Andean hummingbirds , gray ant hatchers ( Myrmotherula grisea ), Grallaria erythrotis , Schizoeaca harterti and some types of tyrant .

820 species of plants have been registered in the park, the estimated number is 1,800.
