The Couloir Cliffs ( English for canyon cliffs ) are 5 km long and between 30 and 60 m high cliffs on the Scott coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . They are located on the east side of Avalanche Bay in Granite Harbor .
Participants of a team led by the Australian geologist Thomas Griffith Taylor (1880-1963) to explore Granite Harbor on the Terra Nova Expedition (1910-1913) led by the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott made the name. Numerous rock shafts and gorges within the cliffs give it its name.
