The Avalanche Bay (English for Avalanche Bay ) is a 1.5 km wide bay on the east coast of the Antarctic Victoria Land . It is located immediately southeast of Discovery Bluff in Granite Harbor .
The bay was mapped by participants in the British Terra Nova expedition (1910–1913) of the polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott . They named the bay after the avalanches they encountered on a sledge excursion to Granite Harbor.
