Court (sport)

Court (English for court ) is the name of the playing field for certain sports.

The term is also used in the German language for the playing fields of sports such as tennis , badminton , basketball , beach volleyball , squash or racquetball . These can be both free playing fields (like tennis) and rooms enclosed with walls (like squash).

The term Center Court describes the main square of such a facility. The term comes from tennis: At the Wimbledon tournament , the place on which the final was played was in the middle of the other places until 1922.
