The Commons Court Tomb is located on a small hill in the grasslands of the Cooley Peninsula in the Townland Commons ( An Coimín in Irish ), about 2.2 km from Carlingford in County Louth in Ireland . There is a Court Tomb of the same name at Fenagh , County Leitrim, and a townland of that name in County Clare . Court Tombs are among the megalithic chamber tombs ( English chambered tombs ) of the British Isles . With around 400 specimens, they are found almost exclusively in Ulster in the north of Ireland or in Northern Ireland .

It is marked on the OS map as Giant's Grave ( German  "Riesengrab" ). It is a double-court tomb on the border of the Boundary of Carlingford parish, formerly with courtyards to the northwest and southeast. Only the approximately 5.0 m long and 1.0 m wide gallery is preserved, which is divided into two chambers by opposite posts. All orthostats are in situ and there are two access posts. A field wall runs 1.0 to 2.0 m apart along the west side of the Court Tomb and across the north end. Inside the wall there are several large stones that come from the Court Tomb.
